Assessment

Assessment for Learning takes place continuously in the form of progress sweeps and discussions with children about their learning in all subjects. This allows teachers to address misconceptions at the point of learning and implement relevant KUNCU strategies to move learning forward. It also provides opportunities to further challenge and stretch the thinking of children who have met the objective already and move on their learning in the lesson. Learners receive meaningful verbal feedback in the moment and can then act on it to make further progress against their learning objective. Teachers use their knowledge of pupils to inform future planning and support needed for subsequent lessons. Teachers build up a detailed record of children’s progress and strengths which enables them to make accurate and well informed teacher judgements. These judgements are then supported by Summative and Statutory assessments and regular internal and external moderation.
