An inspirational place to learn and play, helping us make the most of everyday “All things are possible to those who believe.” (Mark 9:23)

Proud to be part of Elevate Multi Academy Trust

Thorner Church of England Primary School is a village school that is at the heart of a vibrant and incredibly supportive local community.  As our website demonstrates, the children are supported in their learning and development by extremely dedicated staff, governors and parents.

We hope our website enables you to gain an insight into life at our school, but ultimately the best way to find out is to come and visit – we are all very proud of Thorner School and would love to show you all of the exciting teaching and learning that is happening both in and out of the classroom.  We look forward to welcoming you to our school.  Mr I Holmes, Headteacher

We are very proud to be members of North Star and Polaris Teaching School Alliances. North Star and Polaris formed a unique partnership in 2016 to support school improvement  (mainly across North Yorkshire) and work with around 60 primary schools in the region. Our collective aim is to improve outcomes for all children through a self-sustaining, dynamic system of school improvement and support across North Yorkshire and beyond. '

Thorner Church of England Primary School, as part of North Star Teaching Alliance, is delighted to be working in partnership with Leeds Trinity University and Polaris TSA to offer early years and primary teacher-training places for 2018-19. Find out more about our School Direct programme here.
