An inspirational place to learn and play, helping us make the most of everyday “All things are possible to those who believe.” (Mark 9:23)

Proud to be part of Elevate Multi Academy Trust

Please watch our welcome video.  Meet our staff and pupils and find out about our vision, values and what makes our school special.

Welcome

Thorner Church of England Primary School is a village school that is at the heart of a vibrant and incredibly supportive local community.  As our website demonstrates, the children are supported in their learning and development by extremely dedicated staff, governors and parents.

We work hard to provide a safe, caring and inspiring environment to enable our pupils to flourish and achieve their very best.  We are all extremely proud of Thorner School.  The children describe it as a "magical place."

As a school we are part of Elevate Multi Academy Trust, a collaboration of primary schools. Our collective aim is to improve outcomes for all children through a self-sustaining, dynamic system of school improvement and support across the region and beyond.

As headteacher of Thorner School, I feel privileged to work with such keen learners, both children and staff, and to be well supported by an enthusiastic governing body and Trust, who work hard to ensure the best for everyone in our school.

We hope our website enables you to gain an insight into life at our school, but please do not hesitate to get in touch if you require any further information.   We would love to show you all of the exciting teaching and learning that is happening both in and out of the classroom and introduce you to the people who make Thorner a special place to learn, grow and flourish together.

Mrs G. Whawell (Headteacher)
